A chef with a postgraduate degree in plant-based gastronomy leads the kitchen. Any meal, from breakfast to dinner, can be booked. The menu is diverse, featuring vegan versions of classic Brazilian dishes like feijoada and coxinha.

Pousada Solar D’Alcina is strategically located in Paraty, just about a 15-minute stroll to its lively Old Town. If you haven’t heard of Paraty yet, it’s hands down one of the best places to visit in Rio de Janeiro state. It’s a charming town that boasts paradise-like beaches, a rich history dating back to the colonial period, live music wherever you go—you know, the kind of things that come to mind when you think of the perfect vacation. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots in Brazil!

But back to priorities… They serve up a vegetarian breakfast that includes a variety of fruits, juices, bread, and jam. Give them a heads-up, and they’ll happily arrange tofu and plant-based milk for you – the manager himself told me that.

The inn also offers speedboat rentals with a bilingual sailor (EN/PT).
